Richfield High School Continuous Improvement Plan

These are the following programs that the staff at RHS has implemented in order to improve teaching and learning:

  • UEA/SEA Evaluation Training:  Evaluation training is done at faculty meetings and focuses on the criteria used in teacher evaluations.
  • Individual Teacher Evaluations:  The principal evaluates teachers as they teach and rates them on a rubric.
  • District and High School PLC (Professional Learning Community):  These meetings are held twice a month, one at the school level and one at the district level.  They focus on developing teaching methods that improve learning.  A college and career readiness approach with more non-fiction and technical reading and writing is one of the main goals of the program.
  • Common Core Training:  Common Core workshops focus on the new state core and are usually intensive training sessions that take place in the summer.
  • ACT Preparation (Correlated with district goals):  ACT training takes place at planned study sessions and in the classroom.
  • Trust Lands Goals:  Trust Lands goals are developed with the community counsel and presented to our school.  These goals can be found on the school website.
  • Technology Committee:  This committee is being organized to evaluate what technology is being used, how to improve its use, and find new technology.
